Final Box

After my crit I changed the design on the box slightly. I repeated the words, 'promoting paper as a key design element' across the front and back of the box.

I designed a sticker to wrap around the front and back to keep the box closed flat.

Vinyl Cutter

I wanted to use the vinyl cutter to draw out one of the paper sample designs by slotting a biro into the cutter. The order in which it printed was unusual as it would print/draw one letter then move to a letter half way down the page and then back to the top.

Front cover layouts / Box net

Rough sketches on how to position information on the front of the box. I have used one of the designs I have used for the paper samples. It needs refining as the over all design is too red.

Back cover layouts

Rough sketches on how to position information on the back of the box that will hold all of the paper samples. I managed to get actual information about Arjowiggins from their website such as a brief paragraph about the company and it's postal address, website etc...

These are the designs I am currently working on. I had to flip the text to the right hand side in order to accommodate the sticker that will hold the box together.

Paper sample layouts

Rough sketches on how to position information such as stock on each paper sample. Using inspiration from New Order I decided to have a colour bar or colour code to make a division between the design quote and its relevant information.

I wanted to make the subtle link to the printing process by using cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Seen as these are vibrant colours I have toned them down to a lighter and less in your face set of colours.

Recognise The Limits of Digital Technology (Re-worked)

The following designs are for one of the quotes that will will be on a paper sample. I took the quote, "Recognise The Limits of Digital Technology" from the book, '100 Habits of Graphic Designers' by Ed Fella.
